Ancient Doriscus

The ancient city of Doriscus is located at the coast near the Evros delta. According to Herodotus, this area served as a military camp and a supply centre of the army of Xerxes in 480 BC. The archaeological research brought to light numerous finds dating from the Prehistoric through the late Hellenistic times.
