Philippi

The archaeological site of Philippi revealed the existence of an organized social life in the city, starting from the prehistoric times until the 14th century. Especially during the Christian period, the city became important, as we can see from the significant religious and secular monuments brought to light by the archaeologist’s spade in the 20th century.
