Monastery of Archangel Michael, Thasos

It is a nun monastery, which constitutes a metochion belonging to the Monastery of Philotheos in Mount Athos, and it is situated at a distance of 37 kilometres far from Limenas. It celebrates on November 8th and on Tuesday of Diakainisimou (Holy Nail). According to tradition, it was founded by Luke, a Thasian ascetic (830).

Monastery of the Dormition of Theotokos, Maries, Thasos

It is a monk monastery dedicated to the Dormition of Theotokos. The Katholikon is decorated with interesting wall paintings of the 19th century.
