Location: This nun monastery is situated 37 kilometres far from Limenas, in the southeastern part of Thasos. It celebrates on November 8th and on Tuesday of Diakainisimou (Holy Nail).

History: According to tradition, the monastery was founded by Luke, a Thasian ascetic (830). Imperial golden bull documents of the 13th century mention the small monastery of Archangel Michael is a metochion belonging to the monastery of Philotheos in Mount Athos. The Katholikon was erected in 1834 while the other two chapels dedicated to Saint Ephraem of Syros and Aghios Gerasimos of Cephalonia, are more recent. Emperor Nicephorus Botaneiates, as attested by the relevant golden bull document, offered the Holy Nail, a great religious relic kept in the monastery.
Since 1974, the monastery follows the monastic typiko (rules) of Mount Athos, as a metochion belonging to the monastery of Philotheus. The monastery was reorganized after 1980 to house a sisterhood. In its premises, collections of icon paintings and embroidery are displayed.
