Basilica C is a 6th century AD building discovered near the Archaeological Museum of Philippi.
A three-aisled basilica with a transverse aisle was brought to light to the west of Basilica A along with northern ancillary buildings, in one of which a snail staircase is preserved that led up to the gallery. The church bears noteworthy examples of marble decoration and has two characteristic altars, the larger of them being in the middle aisle and the smaller one in the panel separating the presbyterion.
In the early 7th century AD, Basilica C suffered severe damages caused by a strong earthquake that affected the whole area. In the following years, the narthex of the church served as a cemetery.
