The vaulted tomb at Symbola is built with soft tufa stone and the walls are in pseudo-isodomic masonry. It consists of a passageway, an antechamber and a chamber. Along the eastern and southern walls of the chambers there are two stone built, funerary beds bearing painted mortar panelling. The interior walls are also panelled up to the level of the arch with coloured mortar in imitation of marble revetment. The passageway of the tomb is made of large river boulders indicating that it belongs to a later construction phase. The burial remains of three adult men were found in the plundered tomb along with various items coming from the decoration of the funerary chamber. The tomb dates to the early 3rd century BC and is a variation of the Macedonian-type subterranean build tombs.
