An old custom revived in the last years by the Horse club of Doxato. The horses which participate in the ridings, parade on the eve of the competition at the central road of the village accompanied by traditional musical instruments. Riders from Northern Greece compete while the winners’ friends and families cross an egg and break it on their forehead in order not to cast a spell on them. The first, second and third of the winners win money prizes while the villagers offer them a lamp which they place on their shoulders and do the snake dance.
