Iasmos is a big settlement in the tobacco production zone of Thrace which met a great economical flourishing in the 19th century. As a result, many mansions and big houses were built in urban style. Frontal chagiatia (roofed levels extensions) with sachnisia (closed balconies) are of samples of the traditional Thracian architecture.
